Once you find a "Scene" (patterns you like together), you can write that Scene into Arrangement View, so it makes creating beats lightning-fast. Make a bunch of patterns, and experiment with which ones work together. Maschine also offers "Ideas View" which is like Ableton's Session View. Even editing midi notes from the hardware. The MK3 doesn't have a touchscreen, but it doesn't need one. Sometimes being forced to use the touchscreen annoys me. The workflow is just lightning-fast, as well as the Global Swing. Group A could be a drumkit, and Group C could be your sample chops. You can have 16 instruments on 16 different pads, on say, Group B. What I love about Maschine MK3 is also the ability to set a melodic instrument per pad. I need to eventually do a Youtube video showing the exact same "chopping" workflow, with the same sample and soundsets, with both devices. And you can easily tweak each slice's start point (and end). Or, you can go the lazy route and do Slice mode, which can slice to transients, beats, etc. Faster than the MPC, which is admittedly fast, but not this fast. Hold Duplicate, hit Pad 1 and then Pad 2. There is no method faster for chopping samples. The design and the flow is perfect for boom-bap hip-hop which is my favorite as well.
